Impossible

Just a few more sunsets now, and you’ll be gone away
The loneliness has come before but now it’s here to stay
Rays of light inside that only shine when you are near
Impossible to see between the words I’ve written here

And maybe it was wrong to ever fall into your light,
But every time I see you smile I know that it is right.
And although the guilt slowly fades, it always will remain
Impossible for me to clean betrayal’s ugly stain

I hide behind a facade, in you I do confess,
I wish I had a fraction of the courage you possess
But when it comes to love for you, I feel it head to toe,
Impossible for anyone to ever really know

Our journeys lie ahead of us, both difficult and long
And even though we’ll be apart, my soul will sing your song
Whatever cards I’m dealt in life, you’ll always be my queen
Impossible to forget our love, despite the space between

And perhaps these days will be the last we ever get to share
For life is not as pleasant as the sweet smell of your hair,
Just remember that a part of you will stay inside my heart,
Impossible for us to ever truly be apart
