Without You

From a sweat stained pillow
I arise to face another empty day
without you
Squinting from the overwhelming sun
Opening my window
Feeling the early summer breeze
Not quite as glorious
without you
Only in absence
do I realize your power
over me
Like a sorcerer or wizard
you cast the spell on me
Like a snowstorm or a blizzard
buried in your memories
As the shower water hits my face
It wakes me up to battle another day
without you
